Steveston

Not surprising, Hollywood often chooses Steveston as a film location due to its waterfront location and small town atmosphere. The hit ABC TV show Once Upon a Time was filmed in Steveston, and transformed our little village into "Storybrooke, Maine” and put our community on the international map. Other shows such as Pachinko, INK Magic Hour, Project Blue Book, Siren, Overboard, Godzilla, Twilight Zone, A Christmas Holiday, Supernatural and The Terror were filmed in Steveston.

The community continues to be a working fishing village and is home to Canada's largest commercial fishing fleet. The bountiful sea and nearby farms allow restaurants to showcase local produce and seafood.  A favourite destination is Fisherman's Wharf where you can buy fish fresh off the boats and indulge in some of the best dining choices in the city of Richmond.

Family friendly events abound in Steveston.  The Steveston Merchants Association organizes an annual Scarecrow Crawl and Trick-or-Treat in Steveston Village as well as the festive favourite, Girls' Night Out and Christmas in Steveston Village. To the delight of the awaiting crowd, Santa arrives at Fisherman's Wharf in true nautical style, aboard a whale watching boat! Christmas shopping is a visual delight as the shops deck the halls in holiday style, and unique gift choices abound.

Heritage sites are plentiful.  The Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site, Steveston Museum and London Heritage Farm are well worth visiting to learn about Steveston's rich history.

Be warned: Steveston's small town charm will capture your heart.  We feel privileged to call Steveston home and look forward to sharing it with you.

Come and explore Steveston. You will discover a historic fishing village...and a whole lot more!
